Pedro Cassel’s "Caderno de cadernos" leads to a place where attempting to write is, almost always, “starting a fire / with the last match.” In the third book of the author we can find different types of notebooks: the cheap ones, the expensive, the small, the rainy one. In the illustrations, the lines of the body that writes merge with the lines of the notebook and with the marks left on its pages. This movement between body and page unfolds into scenes familiar to anyone devoted to creation: circling the notebook in search of a new perspective, embracing it, dancing with it, struggling with it.
