Enzyme Magazine #2

Enzyme is a magazine edited and produced by artists Jorge Menna Barreto and Joélson Buggila. The project began during the duo’s residency at the Jan van Eyck Academie, where its first issue was launched. The second issue consists of booklets created in collaboration with other artists. I illustrated the booklet by artist Abbie Bradshaw, a performative playbook centered on Blind Scouse, a traditional Liverpool dish—where the magazine’s second issue was launched as part of Liverpool Biennial 2021. The illustrations sought to convey the sense of play, collage, and mixture inherent to cooking. They were created by combining drawing with digital illustration.
