Drawing Buffet is a live drawing project, mostly presented at print and art book fairs. Visitors are presented with a menu where they can choose the paper size and the drawing medium they would like, with the price varying according to those choices. They then tell me a word, a feeling,
a situation, or describe an idea, and their drawing
is prepared on the spot. The main idea is to offer live drawings that are accessible, quick, and fresh, in the literal sense of being made in the moment, spontaneously and without overthinking. The project is also a personal exercise in refreshing
my own drawing practice by challenging myself
to draw things I would never my own, with little time to think and a high demand that I try to use
to my advantage. It also involves engaging with each person's expectations and listening to a little of their story.
